If there is one thing we love at Finklusiv, it is hearing from our old customers. This week, we talked with Kamal, who runs Original Frisør in Frederiksberg. 🌟
A lifetime of experience, a new beginning
With a lifetime of experience as a hairdresser, it was natural for Kamal to seek work in a hair salon when he came from Syria to Denmark in 2014. However, when the coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020, he was among the many who lost their jobs.
The following year, Kamal decided to become self-employed:
"As a hairdresser with 35 years of experience, I wasn’t getting paid enough as an employee, and I also needed more flexibility and freedom. I believed I could run my own business, so I made the decision and opened my own hair salon at the end of 2021." 💇♂️
The challenge of opening a business account
However, he hadn’t foreseen that it would be a problem to open a business account.
"I struggled to open an account in many banks, but I was rejected even though I had my CVR number and all the documents the banks needed. They just said they were no longer accepting small businesses."
A desperate situation
Kamal then found himself in a situation that we, unfortunately, recognize from many other Finklusiv customers:
"I lost a lot of customers as I couldn’t accept cashless payments, and when I started using my personal MobilePay as an alternative, it ended up being shut down by my private bank. I found myself in a desperate and hopeless situation, and I thought I was about to lose my business." 😟
A solution through Finklusiv
Fortunately, Kamal heard about Finklusiv through his network, and soon Original Frisør got a business account with our partner bank FasterOikos. This has made a big difference for Kamal, who can now run his hair salon normally.
