Ahmed got a business account with FasterOikos bank through Finklusiv two years ago. We visited his company, Banias Malerservice, to see how things have been going since.

Passion for Painting

“Painting is my livelihood, and I look forward every day to getting up and doing the work I’m passionate about,” Ahmed says while he is busy painting an entire staircase with his two colleagues.

Ahmed came to Denmark 10 years ago and has worked as a painter for the last 9 years. He shares that he was very stressed when he came from the war in Syria, and that work became a way for him to heal.

“I was studying to become a boat captain, but I didn’t finish my education because of the war. Now, I’m passionate about painting, and I’d rather work than go to language school,” he says in fluent Danish. The business is doing well, allowing Ahmed to support his family and three children.
